Extreme rain
I went to the "big reveal" today. Extreme Makeover Home Edition was in town, and the all the ladies of the house went to see it today. I have pics of Ty and Michael (nicest butt and totally stylin) and Paige in her totally hip pink tool belt and puffy coat. My sister got Tonya's autograph. She is real nice and reminds me of Miss America. It rained like hell the whole time we were there, but it was a once in a life experience. They did a beautiful job and we won't see the rest (like the inside) until they air the show in 4-6 weeks. I could go on and on, but I'm sneezing like crazy which isn't very conducive to typing.

Knee Deep in Paperwork
That pretty much describes what I've been up to. Closing week starts on Monday, so there's this mad rush to get things done. N the new guy, my new cubicle neighbor makes work more fun, but it's weird having someone to actually talk to, who's right there. the person previously next to me said so little to anyone, that sometimes i would sneak a peek just to make sure he was still breathing. N has got some style. He wears colors and suits and tie pins! HE WEARS PURPLE!!! And he likes girls. That really doesn't matter to me, but it's a rare thing, to meet someone interesting who doesn't annoy the shit out of me. He emails me because he says i'm being too quiet. Lol...he's a charmer, that's for sure. He's managed to con me into going to his super bowl party. I haven't been to one of those in ages. there will be a lot of people from work there, so it could be fun.
I really recommend James Blunt's cd. I really like it. British dudes are really good at music. The cd is called Back to Bedlam. It's a good cd to just relax to when the vein in your forehand is going to pop out.
Extreme Home Makeover is in the area. I would go down and help out, but with closing week drawing near, this is the worst time to play hooky, so i have to read about it in the papers and watch the updates on local ABC. I have seen vendors come and go, since the site is sort of on my way to work.
I got a little Singer toy featherweight machine. It's so much fun to play with. It really does sew. Mom doesn't understand why I don't use the real machines, but this has a freedom about it, cause it's so simple that you can't screw much up. It's my speed and it's soooo cute. I love all my gadgets. A couple of crochet leaflets that I ordered from Annie's Attic arrived. I've given up buying craft books local since none of the stores seem to ever get new books. I also have some on the way from my best friend Amazon.com and Joanns.com (their online store has soooo much more).
February is going to be a highly social month. My trip(s) to wichita to see M and the baby shower for A, and the super bowl party. Hopefully I will get to see Sunshine too. Hint hint hint. I hope you've been reading my blog...

Scatter Brained
I lost my little tiny piece of paper that my secret pal at work filled out. So I don't know her birthday or her anniversary other than one is in april and the other is in july. It disappeared my letter holder where it has been every day that I didn't need to look at it. Luckily I remember the other stuff. Hopefully she has those dates in her Outlook calendar, otherwise I might have to do some Nancy Drew detective work. Lucky my secret pal is my boss and she is a chatterbox.
A and Baby L are still doing great. I got to talk to Baby L on the phone last night. She is going to be a talker like her mom, I can already tell. I bought the girly outfit at the Gap that I have been drooling over forever yesterday.
I am organizing my V-day stuff, so it's all together and doesn't get put in Never Neverland. I organized my Charlie stuff too since I will be sending that out soon. I wish I had more room.
It's official, I'm in the Knitting Olympics. I'm getting my stuff together for that. On my little knitting machine, I have made 2 socks, so I just have one more to make to finish off the pair. There's a hoodie pattern I want to make on the big machine, but i need to yarn substitute and have my mom translate the knitting pattern for it because it shouldn't be complicated but I don't understand some of the parts really. Next weekend is a 5 hour yarn event at Michaels so I really want to go to that.
M called me last night and she was on this happy i just had two beers buzz. Very interesting, too much truth serum. She's been test driving cars at used car lots cause now that she has her new job that pays more, she wants to finally replace her car that is like practically dying.
Gross story for the day: our bathroom sink is not draining. So my sister has decided to go the grocery store and get some drain-o cause our parents aren't home and we don' t have any de-clogging products in our house. Isn't that nice?
UPDATE:
The bottle of Drain-o really did work. The sink is now draining properly. I finished the socks. I'm just waiting for my mom do to the weaving in part. I also made 15 bottle cap magnets, 4 of which are for the RENT swap. I am nearly finished with a kids hat on the loom, which will be done by the end of the good tv tonight. My mom is almost done crocheting the hooded sweater for BabY L. She gets the craft medal for the weekend. She basically just has the hood part left to make. My contribution to this project was procuring the necessary purple baby yarn. I might make a little purple hat with the leftovers.
Song of the Day: He was a Friend of Mine by the honorable Willie Nelson off the Brokeback Mountain soundtrack. Good lyrics, melody and I think Willie's voice is soothing and very condusive (sp?) to crafty pursuits.

Welcome to the World, Baby L!!!
A had her baby!!! Baby L was born this morning. A healthy little girl. A and L are doing great and you couldn't smack the smile off my face, I am that excited!!! Tomorrow morning as soon as the mall opens I am going to Gap Kids Outlet to buy the girliest baby outfit that I can find.
So Baby L is brand new and I am not, this site calculates how old you are:
As of 1/20/2006 11:14:38 PM EST You are 25 years old.You are 304 months old.You are 1,321 weeks old.You are 9,248 days old.You are 221,975 hours old.You are 13,318,514 minutes old.You are 799,110,878 seconds old. I am a Libra.
Baby L is:
As of 1/20/2006 11:18:03 PM EST You are 0 years old.You are 0 months old.You are 0 weeks old.You are 0 days old.You are 23 hours old.You are 1,398 minutes old.You are 83,883 seconds old. Baby L is an Aquarius.
The funny thing is that we both fall on astrological cusps.
Needless to say, this has been a wild and crazy day. I went out to eat at this restraurant that's inside of a machine shed. Lol. The decor is definitely rustic, but the chicken strips and fries were damn good. I will be going there again, for sure. Then I got home from work and there was "the call." A deserves a gold medal. I have never heard someone sound so great that just had a BABY THIS MORNING. She is a trooper for sure.
I also signed up for the Yarn Harlot's Knitting Olympics. My project is to actually HAND KNIT a scarf. Thank god I have the span of the Olympics to achieve this goal. I also need to get my crafty ass in gear and start finishing stuff for my early February swaps and V-day.

Live on the Margins
1. yay for sandra oh! and dr. mcdreamy was especially doctor/scruffy hot at the ceremony
2. why can't chicks wear bras (or some kind of similar support) at major events?
3. i am so excited that Brokeback Mountain got the best drama award and the others. So well deserved, I'm still haunted from seeing that movie. It was sooo good and it did the story justice and i had really great theatre seats. The scenery reminds me of my travels through Wyoming and Montana in my summer days of youth (lol--i'm only 25!). I love the musical score as well.
4. Yay for Felicity Huffman and her inspiring words:
"I know as actors our job is usually to shed our skins, but I think as people our job is to become who we really are. And so I would like to salute the men and women who brave ostracism, alienation and a life lived on the margins to become who they really are.”
I think her words can be applied to all of us.
5. Tonight's episode of Gilmore Girls was awesome as usual! The last 1 minute or so wasn't exactly what I wanted, but I have faith that this too shall right itself.
6. my ride actually bounces musically when i play my new Kanye West cd. Lol...
7. I really want to participate in the Knitting Olympics, but I suck at hand knitting so I doubt that I would finish a challenging to me project...Hmm...We will see.

In Anticipation.
So this morning, I finished the little baby hat that I was knitting for A's baby before my toy arrived in the mail. What happened was that S wanted to go eat at Eggberts and since he has no concept of time, I decided to make a baby hat for A's baby since my mom made a comment about the fact that I hadn't made her one. So I made one out of LB watercolors in Shell which is white with pastel streaks, it's the baby version of my favorite yarn bright colors. I got it almost finished before he picked me up and then when I got home, the book I ordered from Amazon Marketplace had arrived and so had my toy. I want to knit the mate to my sock, but I have to get another skein of LB Jiffy before I can. So much for stash busting. I haven't made anything with my KnitPicks yarn because it is special because it's wool and I can't buy natural fiber yarn in town.
I'm just trying to kill some time before we head off to T-town to see the movie. I hope we get decent seats. We better since I ordered these damn tickets online. That just goes to show you how bad I want to see this movie.

Subversive is my middle name
so my last xmas present arrived in the mail today. my mom got me a Singer Kids Knitting machine (the circular one). I made a scary pink scarf with the yarn it came with and then i got some of my stash yarn and made a really awesome tube sock (quit snickering, it's really comfy and it will have a mate eventually). So much fun, I really like it and it's portable.
I broke down and bought Late Registration by Kanye West. For some reason, I get a really good knitting rhythm going when I listen to his music. who knows...
Tomorrow is the big day, I get to go see Brokeback Mountain, I have already purchased my tickets. YAY!!! I will have a full report.

Yarn of course!
So my skein of Knit Picks Sierra yarn in Leaf came today. What nice surprise after a busy day at work. It is 70% wool and 30% superfine alpaca. It is the first yarn that i have purchased online and that comes in hank form and not in a skein a la super saver. It is sturdy yet soft. I am in total yarn love.
Um so last night I found out from M that my ex-boyfriend is having a baby with the skank from North Dakota. The skank told M all about it in an offline on Yahoo. Lovely. Better her than me. Speaking of babies, I think A is about to burst. I will probably be an "auntie" in less than two weeks. That's a scary thought.
Brokeback Mountain has arrived in Tulsa. I am going to try really hard to see it this weekend. So my sis informs me that particular theater has online sales available. sweet -a!
I am kind of hyper which is really funny cause I only got around 4-5 hours of sleep last night. Oops.

stuff
So I would have wrote more yesterday, but I got recruited into moving a bunch of big-ass heavy furniture back into the other rooms now that the floors have set or whatever they have to do. The new bra held up really great while moving the furniture, so I might have to buy more of these in the future. I did manage to make two hats yesterday on my knifty knitter. I could churn out more on my days off, but I usually don't speed knit/crochet unless I have a specific timeline or goal I'm trying to achieve.
I realized that I have received 3 Christmas cards this week. Lol. The stores are putting out some really cute Valentine's day stuff. It is my true favorite holiday even though I'm single by choice and every guy that I have ever dated has screwed up this holiday for me, I still love it, the true romantic that I am. I like the colors, the story behind it, making the cards or finding cute ones to pass out. Making dirty phrases with the little conversation hearts is always fun as well. Heart shaped cookies. It goes on and on my friend. Hot pink or purple roses are my favorite. I like non-traditional colors.

I finally found some!!!
So I returned the hideous jeans to Old Navy and got some cute v-day socks and a dress shirt instead. Next door to the Owasso Old Navy is a Lane Bryant. I can't really buy clothes there because i'm just really busty up top and not so big everywhere else by their sizes. However, they were having a buy 2 get 2 free bra sale, so the hopeless optimistic in me had to at least try. God was with me in that store, because I was able to find four bras that fit-one black, 2 white and one petal pink. When I bend over now, they don't fall out and the freaking underwire doesn't jab me in the side (both of these problems were cause by my tired weary bras that were tired of holding my big boobs). The best part was that these bras all together cost what i usually spend on 1 or 2 bras. My bra spiel is now over, it is safe to continue reading.
Anyways, I haven't really done much else. Head congestion makes you tired. I did get a really funny card from A today.

Almost There
Well, I've been a little scarce lately. It was closing week this week, so us poor peons in the accounting dept. have been up to our eyeballs in crap. I have been so tired/headachy that I have gone to bed at 9:30 pm the last two nights in a row and let me tell you it is almost unheard of for me to go bed before 10:30 unless I am insanely bored or feel like crap.
The floor people have finished installing our new hardwood floors in the living room and dining room and they look very swanky.
This weekend I am planning on making the trek down to Owasso so that I can return this pair of hideous jeans that I bought at Old Navy over the holidays. Hopefully I can find a dress shirt I like in the busty girl section. Cause I don't have a lot of dress shirts to wear and I can't wear a lot of sweaters this week cause it's been above 60 all week. Other goals for this weekend include sneaking in some QAF (hal makes me smile) and knitting my ass off. Why? Cause knitting = love.

Everything's Coming Up Roses
Today has been a better day than yesterday's crapfest. I did however break my green knifty knitter loom while watching the Rose Bowl parade, so it was a very good thing that I had bought a new back-up set during that big sale that Hobby Lobby had on them last month. I just picked it up to cast on and there was this massive crack that had caused it to freakishly break apart. I don't understand the crack because I am very nice to my looms and it's stored in a room temp. environment. Plus, there's no seams on it, so that can't be a cause of it either. I will have to toss that idea out on crafster and see if this has happened to anyone else before.
I also weeded more junk out of my room. It was just starting to look like crapapalooza even for my extremely small space. I wanted to make room on bookshelves and in my closet so I could get some of my very neat stacks off the floor. It's my safe haven while the rest of the house is under construction. I wasn't motivated to dust (my allergies are screwed up enough right now) or take the donation bag to Goodwill. That sounds like a good project for next weekend when I am really bored.
The Rose Bowl Parade was awesome. I was exicited to see Sunshine's band march. I wish it wouldn't have rained. That part sucked especially for the band people and their instruments. I taped it too. I was so proud of myself for actually taping something. I even labeled the tape! The Disney float was my favorite.
I sort of want to go to work tomorrow just to get back into a routine and start earning money again, but I will miss all my extra crafty time.

First Screw up of the New Year
So, I am watching QAF on my sister's tv cause she was still babysitting and I thought my mom was going to church. Apparently she decided not to. She tells me that while we were in Iowa my dad opened up a credit card statement thinking it was his (cause we have similar names) and whoopsie he finds my credit card statement that I'm working on paying off. He freaks out and mails in a $300 payment on it and of course they are freaked out because they think that I'm in debt to my eyeballs. I will admit that I had a few credit cards that I should not have used at all. That was wrong. People do stupid stuff in college. It was my way of survival at the time. Since I have a stable job now, I'm really working to finish that off, so that when I am ready to move out I don't have to worry about that payment. That's why I had A make that strict budget so that I could pay stuff off and still have fun. I know that my parents mean well but it just so embarrassing mostly because I was working on making things better. I did make it through 3 episodes this weekend. Hopefully, I will get to finish watching the rest before season 2 comes out in the reduced price edition.
